Erica’s Bio

Erica is a trainer, an educator, and a motivator. She earned her BA in Physical Education and has continuing education units in the science of Exercise Physiology. Erica earned her Spinal Rehabilitation Certification from the University of Florida’s College of Exercise Science and is a technician in the MedX Healthy Back and Neck Program at Mike Arteaga’s where she is part of the team that has helped 1000’s of people get stronger, decrease their back pain, and increase their quality of life. Erica is also certified to teach the American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers with the emphasis on Heartsaver CPR and AED.

080Erica’s eagerness to help people find exercise fun and move more sent her in the direction of Group Exercise. She is certified MOSSA instructor and currently teaches Power, Active, and Centergy. If you don’t catch her upstairs, however, you may find her in the pool challenging her members with some water exercises.

She also understands that sometimes exercise alone is not enough and portion control guidance is necessary. Erica is a Weight Watchers leader in t5he community. She is at Mike Arteaga’s Health and Fitness Center every Saturday morning motivating and guiding her members to make powerful food choices as well as tips on how to make every move count.

In her “spare time,” Erica practices what she teaches. Don’t be surprised to see her on the circuit, in class or on the stair master next to you during your workouts. And if you venture out to the great outdoors you may find her conquering the ridge of the Shawangunks, taking advantage of the rail trails and The Walkway Over the Hudson, or participating in a fun road race.

Erica specializes in strengthening problem-area joints such as the knee and the shoulder as well as developing sports specific programs. Her underlining passion is her belief that there is an exercise program that can be developed for everyone regardless of age, size, and body limitations.2609
